    John Trumbull Signed Private Scrip December, 1782 from the Contractor's Store of Wadsworth and Carter PMG Choice Very Fine 35.
    This is only the second example of this scrip that we have offered and the first since January, 2004. John Trumbull sketched the lines and fortifications of the American and British positions around Boston during the Revolutionary War. He was a personal aide to General Washington and later became deputy adjutant-general to General Horatio Gates. He resigned from the Continental Army in 1777. He would go on to paint the Declaration of Independence. This painting and three other Revolutionary War paintings of his hang in the rotunda of United States Capitol.
