    Description

Georgia October 16, 1786 1s PCGS Apparent Choice About New 55.
This attractive Abernathie designed one shilling note is essentially as made. At one time it was glue mounted and is noted as having "Mounting Remnants and Stain on Back." We believe the 55 grade to be the highest given by either service for this variety. As it is an Apparent, it does not appear on the PCGS pop report. We've only sold two others, a raw VF over a decade ago and a PCGS 40 Apparent which realized $1495 in 2011. This note is essentially uncirculated with the distracting stain 95% on the back, with a very light show through on the front. An important note for any Georgia collector.

    Estimate: $1,500 - up.
