    Description

Georgia June 8, 1777 $6 PMG Very Fine 30. A red "in" variety note, this example has extremely low serial number 19 and traces of embossing are observed. The seal illustrates a palmetto tree being crushed by a millstone, along with the Latin motto Oppressa Surgit, which roughly translates to, "After being crushed, it rises." All five signatures remain quite bold. The signers were Joseph Wood, Edward Langworthy, Richard Wylly, William O'Bryen, and Nehemiah Wade.

    Estimate: $3,000 - up.
