    Rarest Low-Denomination June 8, 1777 Type

    Georgia June 8, 1777 $1/10 Fr. GA-94 PMG Choice Fine 15 Net.
The June 8, 1777, series notes entitled bearers to Continental Currency. The lowest denomination from this resolution and rare as such. Unpriced in Friedberg, and there are only two examples enumerated on Track & Price. A small ship vignette is in a cartouche at the lower right, and there are two signatures. Noted with "Mounting Remnants Attached" by PMG, but this is difficult to find and it faces up well. The Newman Collection contained only one example, and that realized $1,292.50 in October 2015. This new-to-the-census piece is an excellent opportunity for specialists.
    From the Hunter Collection.
