    Georgia 1777 $2 PMG About Uncirculated 55.
The finest graded by 20 points at PMG, this beauty was previously lot 8090 from the Ford-Boyd Collection, where it realized $1955 in October 2006. The highest graded by PCGS is also a lone 55. All five signatures are fully bold without a hint of the near ubiquitous ink erosion. The motto around the two floating jugs vignette is SI COLLIDIMUS FRANGIMUR (If we collide we will break). This note is original in every sense, and we are surprised that it was not assigned the Exceptional Paper Quality designation. It is valued in the most recent Newman (2008) at $5000 in Extra Fine, with no higher grade given. Corner repairs are mentioned.
