    Description

Finest Graded Maroon Seal $20 1776 Georgia

Georgia 1776 $20 Maroon Seal PMG Choice Extremely Fine 45. This is the highest denomination of the 1776 Maroon Seal Georgia issue. The Rattlesnake vignette is quite clear, and the maroon color, both of the seal and the engraved script "GEORGIA," remain unusually bold. The note is free of the oft-seen repairs and upgrade attempts that plague these thin-paper issues. All five signatures are dark, bold and fully legible. The new Newman book prices this note at $10,000 in EF. PMG has noted a tear, but it is short and quite difficult to locate. The note has all its original embossing and tremendous eye appeal. It's the highest example yet graded by PMG by a large margin.
