    Description

Georgia October 16, 1786 1s PCGS Apparent Very Fine 30.
We have only handled a few examples of these notes. Abernethie engraved the Pro Bono Publico vignette at left. The Bills of Credit were loaned on real estate mortgage security. The notes were printed by John E. Smith of Augusta. The signatures of George Jones and William Daniell are still clearly seen on this well printed and well margined note that has strong eye appeal. The apparent grade has been assigned for, "edge tears, minor damage, and repairs." The size and design of these notes add to their charm.
