    Description

    Georgia June 8, 1777 $6 PMG Very Fine 30.
A tough variety with the word "in" in the fourth line printed in red. This pleasing example carries serial number 19 and displays no adverse comments on the holder. The seal illustrates a palmetto tree being crushed by a millstone, along with the Latin motto Oppressa Surgit, which roughly translates to, "After being crushed, it rises." All five signatures remain quite bold. The signers were Joseph Wood, Edward Langworthy, Richard Wylly, William O'Bryen, and Nehemiah Wade.
