    Description

Rare Georgia $17 Note Tied for Finest Graded at Both Services Combined

    Georgia 1777 $17 PMG Very Fine 30.
Both services combined have graded three examples, with all three of them VF 30's. This is a very nice example of this odd denomination which can be found only from this one issue. This note is missing from most collections. It is in fact only the third one that we have handled in all our sales combined. The note is priced at $5,000 in the latest edition of Newman for the Very Fine grade. It is graced by five strong signatures, and a bold rattlesnake vignette. This would be a highlight in any Georgia collection or a wonderful addition to a 13 Colony set focused on rarities. PMG notes it as Ex: Ford-Boyd and the tag from that 2006 sale is enclosed.
