    Description

Georgia 1776 Blue-Green Seal $1 Justice Fr. GA-71e PCGS Apparent Very Fine 20.
Georgia Colonial notes are visually quite attractive due to their symbolic emblems and color. This rare type is from a series with only two denominations: $1 and $4. These were originally printed on an eight-note sheet. (The $4 notes are exceedingly rare and unpriced in the Newman reference.) This $1 note is border variety (b). The Justice seal color is a distinctive hue with the motto SUSTINE RECTUM (Support what is right) above. PCGS mentioned "Splits, Tears, and Damage; Small Rust Stains and Holes; Tape Repairs." Ex: our Eric P. Newman Internet Part 3 sale, May 3, 2017, lot 89036; Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
    From The Mike Coltrane Collection.
