    Description

Georgia 1766 £1 PCGS Apparent Very Fine 35.
This Large Format note has a charming vignette of the Savannah courthouse at the lower right. The issue was for the purpose of "encouragement of settlers and rebuilding the courthouse in Savannah." This Remainder is signed in the lower left by Grey Elliott. Issued notes had five signatures. The note is essentially as-issued at a glance, but it has been folded several times, and those folds have split and been repaired, as is noted on the PCGS holder as restorations. There is a sale record of $2990 for an Uncirculated Remainder at a 2004 auction. This note, while not as nice, should realize just a hair less.
