Fully Signed Pair both with Serial Number 1000 Rhode Island July 2, 1780 $4 PCGS Apparent Very Fine 30 and $8 PCGS Extremely Fine 40 PPQ.
Really somewhat of a marvel is this pair. They are both fully signed by Jonathan Arnold. Both notes possess desirable serial number 1000 as well. What is really somewhat miraculous is that these pieces circulated for some time and then were reunited eventually; a feat which seems to this cataloger to be quite a long shot. If they were both uncirculated remainders that sat together for a long period of time that would be one thing. The $8 note is an original XF note while the $4 note is also original with a couple of edge splits at the top. Individually these would be worth about $400. This is a particular instance where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. (Total: 2 notes)
