Four Notes from Three Colonies - Maryland August 14, 1776 $2 PCGS Apparent About New 53, Pennsylvania March 20, 1773 16s PCGS About New 50 & South Carolina April 10, 1778 2s 6d PMG Choice Uncirculated 63 and 5s Remainder PMG Uncirculated 62.
We have sold two of these notes as singles in the past. The Maryland note for $558 in our 2014 Long Beach auction and the Pennsylvania lighthouse for an identical $558, also in 2014. The two South Carolina notes, which are both decent in their own right. We're wondering if the J. Beale who signed the South Carolina remainder note was related to Othniel Beale who signed the incredible 1731 note also offered in this sale.
