    Delaware May 1, 1777 4d PMG Choice Uncirculated 64.
The May 1, 1777 emission was made up of £25,000 in legal tender Bills of Credit. £15,000 was for mortgage loans and £10,000 was for expenditures. The portion of the loan targeted for mortgage loans was redeemable in eleven years while the rest of the emission was redeemable in five years. The notes were printed on the same paper as Continental Currency with blue fibers and mica flakes. The legal tender status of this issue was discontinued in late 1780. This attractive 4d note features the then-new coat of arms that had been adopted a few months earlier on the face and a large sheaf of wheat on the back and has the bold signature of Richard Lockwood.
