Continental Currency November 29, 1775 Blue Counterfeit Detector $3 PCGS Gem New 66PPQ.
PCGS has just recently broken out detector notes from the regular issue Continentals, which shows us that this 66PPQ is the only Uncirculated example of this detector that they have seen. PMG has graded only one of these, an AU 50. These detectors were distributed to merchants and Financial institutions to hold for comparison with the notes they received to determine genuineness. The blue color was used so that the notes could not be falsely signed and spent. Every Continental collector should have a detector to represent this interesting type, and this finest-known example would be a perfect piece.
