Continental Currency November 2, 1776 $3 PMG Choice Uncirculated 63.
A gorgeous note with almost every quality of a perfect gem. The right face margin curves in and touches the frame line at the top. Save for that, this note appears wholly gem to us. There are only three uncirculated examples at both services combined with just one of those three grading higher than this note. That note was a PCGS 64PPQ that we auctioned in 2010 for over $2300. More recently, we've sold two AU's, both of those last January at our FUN Auction, a PMG 53 for $940 and a PMG 58 for $1145. Although they have not Net Graded this note, PMG has commented "Retouched". We can find no trace of whatever they think they saw.
