Strikingly Beautiful Eight Dollar May 9, 1776 Continental

Continental Currency May 9, 1776 $8 PCGS Gem New 65PPQ.
A gorgeous $8 Continental from our 2017 Central States auction where we said, "We have handled more than our fair share of extremely high grade Continentals including 66s and 67s, but for sheer eye appeal, this is one of the very nicest Continentals we have ever seen. The grade is accurately assigned as the left-hand face margin does not support the Superb grade. Save for that, this note is absolutely pristine in every other respect and could certainly slip right into a set of Superb Continentals without raising an eyebrow. An extraordinarily nice note deserving of a runaway price."
