    Description

    PCGS 66PPQ May 9, 1776 $6 High-End Gem Continental

Continental Currency May 9, 1776 $6 PCGS Gem New 66PPQ.
Identical to lot number 15408 from last January's sale and from the same sheet. A year ago, the market for extraordinary Continentals was just beginning to gain a head of steam. The market is much stronger now and seemingly still developing. Last year's note realized over $5,500 and we would not be at all surprised to see this stunning Continental, with its huge margins and deep embossing, double that realization. It is hard to imagine why this note was not given another point to the Superb level.
