Incredibly Bright and Beautifully Margined $3 PMG 66 EPQ May 9, 1776 Continental

Continental Currency May 9, 1776 $3 PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ.
Alone at the top of the PMG population report with the 65 slot below it empty; its closest competitor is a 64. Incredibly well margined and as bright as the day it was printed. Last April we sold the PCGS 66 of this same note for the runaway price of $14,100. While we would certainly not expect this piece to approach that level, we do anticipate that it should bring half or a bit more.
