May 20, 1777 Seven Dollar Tied For Finest Known at Both Services Combined

Continental Currency May 20, 1777 $7 PCGS Very Choice New 64.
This May 20, 1777 Seven Dollar note is alone at the top of the PCGS population report. There are only four Uncirculated notes for both services combined with the best at each a single 64. This note looks the part of a full Gem and on any given day could have been assigned that extra point. It is a handsome note with excellent margins, strong signatures and good eye appeal. We sold the PMG 64 in our August 2010 Patriotic American Auction for $3,220. In this far stronger market five years later, we would anticipate considerably more.
