    Description

Continental Currency May 10, 1775 $30 PCGS Choice New 63PPQ.
This is an absolutely gorgeous example of a very scarce, condition census type of note. The $30 denomination from this first Continental emission is much tougher in general but specifically so in the CU grades. We have only sold one other example that was its equal; a PMG Choice CU 63 EPQ from the massively undervalued Midnight Ride collection and that piece brought almost a four-figure price. Close to three years since that time the collectible currency market, and the Continental Currency market in particular, has appreciated rapidly with "top pop" caliber notes rising to the cream of the crop. Our estimate, while seemingly adventurous to the novice, may prove to be quite conservative by the time the hammer falls.
