Continental Currency February 26, 1777 $6 Blue Counterfeit Detector PCGS Gem New 66PPQ.
Save for a half-sheet of eight that graded About New which we sold in January 2005 for over $3700, we have never handled any high-grade Baltimore Detector notes. This $6 example is an absolute Gem. PCGS does not report detectors, but PMG does, and they have not graded a single CC59 detector, another indication of the rarity of this note. This $6 is the finest of the run. Continental specialists will no doubt appreciate the rarity and grade and push this note well past what normal detectors bring.
