    Description

Continental Currency February 17, 1776 $1/6 PMG Choice Uncirculated 63 EPQ.
Identical in grade to the PCGS 63PPQ which we sold at our 2012 FUN auction for $4,025. A very nice example of this always-popular Fractional Continental type. Because of its connection with the Fugio Cent and the design elements that were suggested by Benjamin Franklin, this design type, although not rare, has remained one of the most treasured and highly collectible Continental issues. The 13 linked rings and the "WE ARE ONE" that appear on the back of the note, were also used on the Continental Dollar Coins.
