    Description

Continental Currency April 11, 1778 $5 PMG Very Fine 30.
The hand being pricked by thorns emblem displays exceptional detail on this lightly handled Yorktown example. The motto is clear and distinct as well, and the note is well margined. An important rarity, as are all Yorktowns, but particularly the lower denominations. Six of the eight denominations of Yorktowns were heavily counterfeited by the British in an effort to undermine the value of the currency of the nascent United States.
