    Description

Uncut Pair of United States Lottery Tickets

Continental Congress United States Lottery Ticket Class the Third Uncut Pair November 18, 1776 About New.
A rare uncut pair of these really scarce and underappreciated United States Lottery Tickets. Most all that we have seen in our auctions are from this November 18, 1776 resolution. Signed by E. Campbell. There is toned paper and a couple of stains. The top note has a couple of horizontal tears from the sides. The lottery was deemed a way of raising funds that would be less objectionable than further taxes. The lottery was poorly received since the payout ratio was low compared to other lotteries commonplace at the time; thus the public ceased to subscribe.
