Continental Congress Loan Federal Indent September 27, 1785 $2 14/90ths Anderson 166 PMG Very Fine 25.
Only the fourth example of an Anderson 166 to participate in our auctions, this example is also the first that was actually for more than $2 as "fourteen" is penned before "ninetieths of a Dollar." The last Anderson 166 that we auctioned was for exactly $2 and graded PMG Very Fine 30 Net with ink burn. It closed at $2,115 in January 2016. The PMG label on our current offering cites pinholes, which are many, but the rarity of this note is not affected.
