DescriptionContinental Currency September 26, 1778 Half Sheet of Eight PCGS Apparent Extremely Fine 45.
A very nice example of one of the more available Continental multiples. Although the most common of Continental half sheets, all of the few that we have seen are approximately in this condition. No fully margined, truly high grade example is known either to us or to the consignor of this collection. All eight denominations of the issue are present and all eight are signed twice, numbered and ready for circulation. PCGS has assigned the Apparent grade for "Minor Stains; SmalI Internal Splits" both of which are accurate, but the stains are confined to the back and the splits are nothing but three juncture holes in the blank margin area. Taken individually the notes range from VF to AU. We last sold this sheet in 2005 when it realized $2,041. Framed and hung, this scarce Continental multiple would give the appearance of a fully AU sheet.
