DescriptionContinental Currency May 9, 1776 $5 Very Good. This note is signed by Ben Jacobs who, until recently, was thought to be one of the two Jewish signers of Continental Currency. Recent historical evidence points to Mr. Jacobs not being Jewish. The "other" Jewish signer was Benjamin Levy. Nonetheless, Jacobs and Levy are actively collected. The back left-hand edge of this note shows a couple of skin marks, while the bottom edge has surrendered to furling.
Estimate: $150 - up.
