DescriptionContinental Currency May 20, 1777 $7 PMG Extremely Fine 40 EPQ.
Respectably margined on both sides, this $7 note possesses natural paper surfaces and retains the signature of Charles Cist. The May 20, 1777 issue, the eighth of eleven issues, is the second scarcest; edged out only by the April 11, 1778 Yorktown issue. These May 20th notes can be a challenge to find in any grade. The last comparably graded example we sold was a PMG 45 EPQ that sold for $1495 in our 2009 Central States Signature auction.
Estimate: $1,200 - up.
