DescriptionContinental Currency May 20, 1777 $7 PCGS Very Choice New 64.
At both services combined, there are a total of four uncirculated notes. This gem-appearing $7 note is Top Pop at PCGS and tied with one other 64 at PMG. The other two circulated notes are a 63 and 60. We sold the PMG 64EPQ in 2010 for $3220. May 20, 1777 notes are simply not available in high grade. The current edition of Newman prices notes from this issue at $2000 in Extremely Fine versus $200 to $400 for most of the other issues. The margins are incredible and the centering of this note from this very scarce issue is excellent.
