    Description

Continental Currency May 20, 1777 $30 PCGS Banknote Uncirculated 62.
The only Continental denomination with a double vignette rather than the nature print on the back. The twin vignettes on the back of the $30 denomination were utilized on five different issues: May 10, 1775, July 22, 1776, November 2, 1776, February 26, 1777, and May 20, 1777. The $30 notes in the final issues utilized nature prints on the backs. The double vignettes are the same two vignettes that appear face and back on the $20 May 10, 1775 marbled edge note. Both were designed by Benjamin Franklin. Franklin's original sketch for the VI CONCITATE vignette appears on page 78 of the 5th edition Newman.
