DescriptionContinental Currency May 20, 1777 $3 PCGS Choice About New 58.
This May 1777 issue is generally considered to be the second scarcest Continental emission behind only the Yorktown issue. It has a vignette of an eagle attacking a crane with the Latin phrase "EXITUS IN DUBIO EST," which translates to "The Outcome is in Doubt." PMG has not graded anything above a 30 for this number. PCGS has two AUs with this the best and 3 Uncs with a 63 the best of them. For visual appeal, this could easily be the finest known.
