    Continental Currency May 10, 1775 $8 PMG Choice About Unc 58 EPQ.
    The $8 was part of the initial Continental Congress issue, placed in circulation in August, 1775. The face has an emblem depicting a harp with thirteen strings representing the thirteen colonies with the motto MAJORA MINORIBUS CONSONANT (The large colonies and the small colonies are in harmony) while the back has a nature print of henebit and two buttercup leaves. 49,000 $8s were authorized for issue. An attractive note with minimal evidence of having been in circulation.
