DescriptionContinental Currency May 10, 1775 $3 Fine.
Overall even circulation is observed on this well printed $3 note from the first issue of Continental Currency. The emblem illustrates an eagle and a heron fighting. The motto is EXITUS IN DUBIO EST (the outcome is in doubt). The nature print is skeletonized elm and maple fruit. Although one of the signatures has faded, that of James Read can still clearly be seen. Areas of light staining are observed.
