Continental Currency May 10, 1775 $20 PMG Very Good 8 Net. The right end has been reconstructed as PMG notes on the holder. This note, while certainly heavily repaired, has huge marbling, strong signatures, and is essentially a nice looking VF. The two services have a different approach to repaired notes. PMG lowers the grade considerably and calls the note "Net". PCGS uses the accurate grade for the note itself, mentions the repairs, and refers to the note as "Apparent". Both systems have their merits, but attempting to compare a note from one service to a note from the other is frustrating, to say the least. Suffice it to say that this Net 8 has much of the visual impact of a $5,000 note, but will certainly sell closer to the VG price level.
