DescriptionContinental Currency July 22, 1776 $7 PMG Choice Uncirculated 63 Net.
PMG has assigned the Net grade because the note has been "Previously Mounted." That appears accurate, but the traces are minuscule. Even with the Net grade for the minor problem, this is the only Uncirculated example of this Continental seen by either service in the 44 combined pieces they have examined. The note also carries the signature of Ben Jacobs, who had for years been considered as one of the two Jewish signers of Continental Currency. Recent research leaves Ben Levy as the lone Jewish signer; but the Jacobs signature still brings a small premium.
Estimate: $4,000 - up.
