DescriptionContinental Currency July 22, 1776 $4 PCGS Very Choice New 64.
The emblem as described in an almanac published in 1777 that stated "the wild boar is an animal of great strength and courage, armed with long and sharp tusks which he knows how to use in his own defence. He is inoffensive while suffered to enjoy his freedom, but when roused and wounded by the hunter, often turns and makes him pay dearly for his temerity." This is an issue that is extremely difficult to locate in top grade. This PCGS 64 is one of the nicest $4 examples we have handled.
