DescriptionContinental Currency July 22, 1776 $30 Contemporary Counterfeit PCGS Very Fine 30.
Black lines were drawn across the face to indicate this note is a counterfeit. Newman lists four different Thirty Dollar Counterfeits from this issue. This is the third variety of the four, with the "Y" in "THIRTY" high, the "r" in "receive" low, the "O" in "DOLLARS" too small, and with the tops of the middle letters within "Congress" forming a concave curve. Every Colonial collector needs at least one contemporary counterfeit as part of their collection.
