DescriptionContinental Currency January 14, 1779 $80 PCGS About New 50.
A gorgeous example of this highest denomination found on Continental Currency. The $80 note is from the scarcer first sheet of this final emission and to find attractive, high grade examples is no easy feat. A sheet fold to the far right appears to be the culprit that knocked the grade down to AU. The last couple of examples we have sold in AU brought between $600 and $800 each.
