Continental Currency January 14, 1779 $3 PCGS Choice About New 58PPQ.EXITUS IN DUBIO EST is the Latin motto which Newman translates to "The outcome is in doubt." That is the interesting motto on this three dollar note's vignette which depicts an eagle and a heron involved in a fight. This note has good margins, strong signatures, and an appealing red and black color scheme that is sure to please. We are not at all sure how to say "the grade is in doubt" in Latin, but that should appear somewhere on this note, too.
