    Description

    Double Uncut Sheet

Continental Currency January 14, 1779 $20-$80-$70-$5-$4-$3-$2-$1 Double Uncut Sheet PMG Extremely Fine 40 Net.
All of the above denominations are found on this double uncut sheet twice. This is the first one of these uncut sheets with these denominations that we have auctioned. Our archives reveal that for the entire January 14, 1779 issue, we have offered only one other sheet with 16 subjects. That earlier sheet has the same format as the current offering. It was a raw XF-New and realized $28,750 in August 2010. This was the second highest price for any Continental uncut sheet to cross our auction block. The Net grade is for previously mounted and splits. Nonetheless, this is a rare sheet.
