DescriptionContinental Currency January 14, 1779 $1 Very Good.
This note has the signature of "Jas. Wilson," who was a signer of the Declaration of Independence. However, the signature on this note is by an amanuensis substituting for Mr. Wilson. The signature on this note is similar to the amanuensis' signature on page 86 of the fifth edition of Newman. This example has edge wear and a tape repair at center on the back. Included with this lot is an envelope in which a previous owner thought this note was signed by the signer of the Declaration of Independence.
