    Description

Continental Currency February 26, 1777 $4 PCGS Very Choice New 64.
Both grading services have combined for four Uncirculated examples. PCGS has graded a 61, a 63, and this 64. PMG has graded a single Unc, a 65. This note stands alone at the top of PCGS census and second when both services are combined. It is another great looking piece with broad margins and strong eye appeal. The vignette of the boar running onto a spear is remarkably sharp, as is every letter of the Latin motto, "Aut Mors Aut Vita Decora," which Newman translates as, "Either Death or an Honorable Life." It appears this boar has thrown in the towel on the honorable-life part.
