When Philadelphia was occupied by the British, the Continental Congress moved to Baltimore from December 20, 1776 to February 27, 1777. The notes issued at that time are known as the Baltimore issue. This $30 note, the highest of the issue, has one vignette on the front and two on the back. The third party grading company has given it an Apparent grade due to edge splits at the top center.
