DescriptionContinental Currency February 17, 1776 $5 PCGS New 62PPQ. This boldly printed, nicely margined $5 Continental has plenty of eye appeal and received the PPQ designation from PCGS. George Campbell and Daniel Clymer signed this example. The emblem is a hand that has been pricked by thorns while gathering food and the hand is bleeding. The motto is SUSTINE VEL ABSTINE (either survive or give up). The nature print is betony and sage, the same print that was used earlier on Pennsylvania notes.
