Continental Currency February 17, 1776 $2/3 PMG Extremely Fine 40 Net.This pleasing Fractional Continental is one of the very few that carries the Benjamin Levy signature. We can recall having seen only one other in fifty plus years. PMG has net graded this note with the comments "Rust, Repaired" but no visible evidence of either can be easily seen through the holder. This note, which is boldly signed by Levy, would be worth several hundred dollars even without his signature. Benjamin Levy is the only Jewish signer to be found on any Continental Currency. It was long thought that Ben Jacobs was also Jewish, but exhaustive research done about ten years ago, uncovered the fact that he was not. A great note.
