Continental Currency February 17, 1776 $1/3 Fr. CC-20. PCGS Superb Gem New 67PPQ.
The finest $1/3 Fugio note known to us and one of the finest graded Fugio types of any denomination. On this denomination, the sundial emblem and mottoes are on the left. This is the lone Superb Gem New 67PPQ-graded $1/3 and the top population example of its type at PCGS. It deserves only accolades for deep printing, wide margins, perfect face-to-back registration, and a sharply penned red signature. Plate B. No. 387041. Signed by B. Brannan in red. We have cataloged and sold only one Fugio note graded PCGS Superb Gem New 67PPQ. That $2/3 note was sold in our Continental Congress Collection offering in April 2015 for $12,925. This breathtaking note would be a cornerstone in the finest Continental currency set or a complement to a Choice Continental dollar coin. This Newman Collection note is destined for a prestigious cabinet.

Truth Seeker: The Life of Eric P. Newman (softcover)
A powerful and intimidating dealer of the 1960s, backed by important colleagues, was accused of selling fraudulent gold coins and ingots to unsuspecting numismatists. Who would go up against a man like that and, over the course of decades, prove the fraud? Who would expose a widely respected scholar as a thief, then doggedly pursue recovery of coins that the scholar had stolen from an embarrassed numismatic organization, all over the objections of influential collectors who had bought coins with clouded titles? Eric P. Newman would - and did. Reserve your copy today.
