Rare February 26, 1777 Blue Detector SheetContinental Currency Feb. 26, 1777 Uncut Single Pane Sheet of $30-$2-$3-$4/$8-$7-$6-$5 Blue Counterfeit Detector Notes Fr. CC-62DT-CC-55DT-CC-57DT/CC-61DT-CC-58DT. PCGS Extremely Fine 40.
A rare "at Baltimore" resolution detector sheet that is seldom encountered. The denominations share the same array as the prior issue July 22, 1776 notes. The pane has some light gutter folds and a fold across the top two notes, but this has a choice appearance from the face. Strongly printed by Hall and Sellers. Complete margins are all around. An underrated sheet and rarely encountered uncut.

A powerful and intimidating dealer of the 1960s, backed by important colleagues, was accused of selling fraudulent gold coins and ingots to unsuspecting numismatists. Who would go up against a man like that and, over the course of decades, prove the fraud? Who would expose a widely respected scholar as a thief, then doggedly pursue recovery of coins that the scholar had stolen from an embarrassed numismatic organization, all over the objections of influential collectors who had bought coins with clouded titles? Eric P. Newman would - and did. Reserve your copy today.
