    Description

Continental Congress Issue September 26, 1778 $50 Gem New. A broadly margined, well printed note with strong forged signatures and a red serial number. This is the second of the two $50 Counterfeits of this issue listed in Newman. Contemporary Counterfeits of Colonial-era Currency are legal to own and are highly collectible. This is an extremely deceptive example that would easily have passed as genuine.
