Benjamin Levy Signed Continental Currency November 2, 1776 $3 PCGS Very Fine 30.
The $3 Continental notes are much scarcer as a general rule than a lot of the higher value whole denomination notes. This one has excellent detail for only a VF 30 grade and it is long on eye appeal. Of particular interest is that this note was signed in red ink by Benjamin Levy, the only confirmed Jewish signer of Continental Currency. While this would likely be a $200-$250 note on its own merits, the Levy autograph always seems to add a significant amount of value. To that point, you have to go all the way back to our 2002 Central States sale to find another Levy signed $3 note that we sold. That particular example, graded XF, brought $833.75. The present example should be worth at least half that amount.
